1. Brackets

REMEMBER

Same order of operations must be applied during simplification. Always solve in the order: Vinculum → Brackets → Of → Division → Multiplication → Addition → Subtraction.

3. Square Root and Cube Root

SQUARE ROOT

If x² = y, then √y = x
√4 = 2, √9 = 3, √196 = 14

CUBE ROOT

The cube root of x is the number whose cube is x.
Denoted by ∛x
∛8 = ∛(2×2×2) = 2
∛343 = ∛(7×7×7) = 7
